HOW WE METTom and Christina officially met their freshman year at Georgia Tech in 2000, when they were both members of a freshman student organization. THE FIRST DATEAfter spending so much time together during summer 2004, Tom finally asked Christina out on a classic dinner & a movie date. He already could sense Christina’s love of food & wine, so he took her to ONE Midtown Kitchen in Atlanta, where Christina nervously spilled her water all over the table. As the waiter came to clean the table, he sarcastically joked, “Well at least this isn’t a first date.” not realizing that it actually was! The movie was Spiderman2, where Christina clumsily fell up the theatre stairs and spilt their cokes. Tom was starting to see a pattern… |

THE PROPOSALAfter 5 years of dinner & a movie dates later, Tom proposed to Christina. The engagement was originally planned to take place at the Cherry Blossom Festival near the Smithsonian. But due to torrential rain and chilly weather, Christina refused to accept Tom’s invitation to sit on a soaking parking bench. Little did she know why Tom was pressuring her so much to sit so he could propose to her overlooking the Tidal basin and Jefferson memorial. After a long afternoon of finding a “rain plan” spot, Tom took his proposal indoors. He presented her with a homemade scrapbook of 5 years of memories together, with the last page asking “Christina, will you marry me?” |
